I know this is short notice, but as we said earlier, this is really a work in progress at the moment so we are sort of scrambling to get our information together for you.
We want to let you know that the Jonesborough Repertory Theatre is holding auditions tonight for their season opener for NEXT season, Beauty and the Beast. Yes, the auditions are being held crazy early but it is for good reason. When you consider the costuming and other special effects that are involved with this production, measurements need to happen as early as possible so that fabrication can get underway quickly to allow plenty of time for adequate adjustments to be made to costume pieces and appliances for the various creatures and furniture characters.

We are excited to announce auditions for the well-known and beloved Disney musical, Beauty and the Beast, on Sunday and Monday, February 12th and 13th.
At 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, we will have auditions for Chip (the teacup) for boys and girls ages 8-13. On Sunday and Monday at 7:00 p.m. we will hold auditions for the rest of the cast. They are open to men and women, ages 14 and up. The audition will consist of a cold reading, singing a group number, and learning a group dance to perform. If you are interested in a lead role, please come with a prepared 1-minute solo.
We plan to have a light rehearsal schedule through June, then a more intense one during July and August. Performances are on weekends, September 8th-October 1st; school shows are tentatively scheduled for Wednesday, September 13th.
It is very important to bring a list of rehearsal conflicts you may have so you can include them on your audition form.

Also, February 19 & 20, JRT will be holding auditions for The Little Princess. Below is the information JRT has provided related to the auditions:
The JRT will be holding auditions for The Little Princess on Sunday and Monday, February 19th and 20th, at 7:00 p.m. There are roles for girls ages 8-17, boys ages 13-17, and men and women of all ages. The audition will consist of a cold reading. The production dates are on weekends, May 12th-28th and school shows (during the day) on May 17th. All cast members must commit to tech week (May 7th-11th) and all shows. We will try out best to work around other rehearsal conflicts.
Show synopsis: Young Sara Crewe would rather stay with her dear father in India than leave for Miss Minchin’s boarding school in grim, bustling London, but her father insists she receive an English education. Using her books and her imagination, she is able to quickly win friends and make the best out of every situation. But when her fate takes a disastrous turn, will her vibrant inner life be enough to sustain her through tragedy and hardship? In this heartfelt, faithful adaptation of the beloved novel by Frances Hodgson Burnett, one girl’s goodwill and courage show what being a princess truly means
